Receive a call from customer yesterday regarding her Macbook

Screen totally black. Bottom of the laptop gets heat up easily and is not able to power on

I took over the Mac and did some troubleshooting. Plug in the power using a 60W charger. It still doesn't turn on

I and my technician we than got a screw driver kit to dismantle the Macbook

Check on the motherboard and replace some components.

Managed to repair the Macbook and is now able to power on.

Desktop Upgrade and PC Migration - Project

Receive a computer repair job this morning, It's an old Dell Desktop CPU that is running on "Intel Core 2 Duo" and Windows Vista Operating Systems

Client mention that the machine wasn't able to power on

At first I suspected it to be a Power supply faulty, did a check on the internals

- Power Supply is working good

- Hard Disk is fully functioning

It's came out to be the Motherboard that is faulty.

Instead of replacing a Motherboard. I convinced him to do the Desktop upgrade as his machine is very old and slow Released, Year 2006

Sourced for him a (HP) Desktop, that fit into his requirement

Which is enough to handle daily simple work i.e. Web Browsing, Words, Excel 

- Affordable machine that can do simple Web Surfing

- Not using it to run intensive applications like high graphics games

- Doesn't require a high-end specs and an expansive machine 

Transferred all his data from the old desktop HDD into the new SSD machine (HP)

Today took up the repair job from a customer. The phone motherboard has been bent and the Screen is cracked severely

I was surprised when we heard that the phone fell from 20 storey of his apartment window to the 1st floor which cause this heavy damage

I and my technician we managed to repair it by changing

- A new LED Screen

- Side housing, including power and volume button

- Back Glass

After the repair the phone look as if it was new

Today a customer approached me with his laptop. It is still able to power on but is super laggy and slow

I took over his laptop and check on the Systems Processes. I than notice there is a huge amount of unknown application running in the background.

Suspected it to be a Malware or Trojan that has infected his PC as there alot of annoying pop-up appearing.

I immediately installed a Antivirus Software into his machine and did a Full Systems Scan

Due to the Virus badly attacked his machine. Had no choice but to backup everything and reformat it and reinstall all the software

My customer is very satisfied with my services and he actually saved my contact into his phone

My client from a Financial industry called me up. I went down to their office

Client explained to me that the files in their hard disk were corrupted and unreadable.

I took over the hard disk from my client and perform a Data Recovery on the drive.

Pop it into my PC. And run a File Systems Check and Partition recovery

Than I use a Data Recovery (Forensics) Software to aid with the retrieval of the corrupted files

As shown. I managed to recover 6 years of spreadsheet (financial report) from it 2014 - 2020

My client is very satisfied with the service that I provided. I told them to be more careful in future creating backup copy of the important files

Huawei has been barred from providing Google Mobile Services on their Android powered mobile released after 2019.

Since it introduction of Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). It's has been an issue as many apps still rely on using Google API and didn't work properly without Google.

Apps like Grab (Transport) and Gojek didn't run properly as it rely Google for it maps

As I browse through the Huawei AppGallery there are still many popular apps not yet available and has to be sideloaded.

Got the Google Services (GMS) installed. As shown need to downgrade the firmware using hisuite proxy.

Freelance IT Project - Setting up Personal Computer (PC) and Wi-Fi

My client from a Nail Shop called me today for a Information Technology (IT) project setup.

Her requirement is to setup an electronic banner. I got them a TV and hook it up to a Computer Stick (HDMI)

Installed Windows 10 Operating System, Installed the VLC media player software

My client also mention that her Wi-Fi signal and speed is also quite bad. She is using a Singtel provided router.

I got a Asus AC-3200 for her replacement router. It is a Gigabit router that support Wireless AC with speed up to 3200Mbps

802.11ac: 1300Mbps 802.11n: (5GHz) 600Mbps (2.4GHz) 450Mbps 802.11a/g: 54Mbps 802.11b: 11Mbps

I than use the WifiInfoView software to do a scan of the surrounding area make sure that the Wi-Fi channels do not conflict

The settings are: 

(5GHz) - 40/80MHz Channel 48/149 Non DFS Channels 

(2.4GHz) - 20MHz Channel 1/11 Non-Overlapping Channel

Client is very satisfied with my service as I got the electronic banner up with a high speed Wi-Fi setup for her shop

Huawei P40 Pro 5G - Installing Google (GMS)

I just got myself a Huawei P40 Pro 5G

It has one of the best Camera for now. The Camera is based on a LEICA Vario-Summilux H 1:1.8 - 3.4/18-125 ASPH

I can now leave my DSLR Camera at home. Since it is very heavy to carry around

The phone itself has no Google Mobile Services (GMS) and is using Huawei Mobile Services and AppGallery

I managed to Install the Google Mobile Services (GMS), Play Store, Youtube, Maps, Gmail into the phone and it works just fine

To downgrade the phone firmware, I used HiSuite Proxy it is a software that allows the phone to be downgraded back to a previous version so that the Google Installer Assistant (LZPlay) can work

The (LZPlay) app make use of the Mobile Device Management (MDM) to grant special permission. (This means that it grant super administrator access to install systems only app) The empty stubs that is being removed

After the Google Services is installed. The phone can still be updated to latest version of Android using Over-The-Air (OTA) update the Google Services will still remain working

As long as you don't factory reset it would work just fine
